An Arabian Night at the Marcliffe Hotel

Every year Roselle is tasked with transforming this event space into a dream like experience for the guests and their partners that transports them into a fantasy world of beauty and surprises.

 The fun, glamour and entertainment began as soon as guests arrived at the venue, where they were greeted by a stunning contortionist, who wowed guests with an elaborate routine from inside a bespoke circular stage.

The entrance corridor to the ballroom was transformed with purple, opulent, glitter flooring that sparkled in the light. Floor to ceiling purple and pink draping lined the space and the Moroccan gold lanterns, large palm plants, smells of jasmine and luxurious cushions and soft furnishing completed the stunning entrance.

Handsome palace guards stood outside each entranceway dressed in harem trousers and waistcoats, guiding guests through to the main event space. All these elements, sounds, smells and textures, worked together to bring the Arabian nights theme to life and make guest feel like royalty, ready to enjoy an action packed evening.


The main event space was transformed into an Arabian Harem. Fret work Arabian scenery lined the room and transformed the bar and stage areas. Plasma screens were inserted into window scenery to give guests the impression they were looking out at the sunset over the desert.

The dance floor was an intricate Persian rugs and the ceiling was draped with heavy swags of fabrics and finished with hanging lanterns. The tables were dressed a rich iridescent fabric in hot pinks and purples and littered with an array of coloured glass lanterns and jewels.


Belly dancers wowed the audience with their hypnotic routine, this was followed by non other than the one and only Madness who went one step beyond!

In addition Roselle’s New Media Designer created all the print material to compliment the overall theme, from the ornate, gold scroll invitations to the table plan and place cards.  It’s this attention to detail that pulls all the elements together and ensures a truly memorable event.

Staff will be talking about this event for years to come and are always exited and enthusiastic about what the next year will bring. This is testament to the fact that investment in staff events can improve motivation, morale and even staff attraction and retention.
